Turn even the smallest patio or balcony into a lush, thriving oasis with the art of container gardening. This hands-on workshop will teach you how to design beautiful, functional arrangements in a variety of containers — bringing life, color, and fresh ingredients right to your doorstep. Enjoy a welcome drink when you arrive to sip & snip!

Beyond enhancing your outdoor space, container gardening offers the physical and mental benefits of tending a garden, plus the joy of harvesting herbs and produce to use in your own kitchen. Whether you’re working with a compact patio or simply looking to elevate your space, you’ll leave with the confidence and techniques to grow something beautiful and delicious.

About the Instructor:

Umbel Gardens is a proud women-owned business led by Katie Hinson, a certified Landscape Horticulturist, Northwest Flower & Garden Show Gold Medal Garden Creator, and certified Hamilton County Master Gardener.

Through thoughtfully designed raised bed kitchen gardens, Katie’s mission is to inspire and educate Chattanoogans to grow their own edible gardens at home. She believes that growing organically and eating seasonally nurtures not only the environment, but also mental well-being and community connection. Passionate about reconnecting people to the land and their food, Katie would love to help you start snacking straight off the vine.
